Description of Norpro Apple Master without ClampCapable of 3 separate functions: pare, core and slice; pare only; or slice and core only. Stay sharp deluxe stainless steel blade. Vacuum base holds securely to any smooth surface. All of Norpro's Apple-Masters and Apple-Mates feature a rust free, tool grade cast aluminum frame known for strength and durability. Deluxe paring and coring/slicing blade included. If the only thing holding you back from baking scrumptious apple pies is the prospect of all that laborious peeling, feast your eyes on the solution to tired, sore fingers and wrists. Norpro has created the ultimate apple peeler, solidly constructed and designed for years of use. It pares, cores, and slices any apple in seconds--almost automatically. All you have to do is place the apple in the machine, turn the crank, and watch the skin disappear. The coring shaft is made of carbon steel with nickel plating, and is engineered to turn smoothly and never warp, ensuring a more efficient, faster, more uniform slicing-and-peeling process. The prong fork is durable, heavy-duty nickel-plated zinc, and easily pushes the flesh of an apple to prepare it for paring. The paring blade is stainless steel, and can be adjusted for thickness by the simple loosening of a thumbscrew. Spring tension on the paring arm gradually adjusts to every contour of the apple, which allows the blade to peel smoothly and uniformly. The entire machine is set on a heavy-duty vacuum base that "sticks" to any smooth surface with the flip of a lever, so you can literally operate it with one hand once you set the apple in the machine. It has a number of sharp blades on it, so it's not something to be used by children without close supervision, but for an adult it's quite safe and easy to use. --Jonathon Tudor
