Kitchen and Housewares Reviews of Norpro 5569 Decorative Cup WarmerCustomer Review: I Have Been Searching For Something Like This For A Long Time! Summary: 5 Stars
I hope these reviews are true. I am ordering one right now and, if it works and keeps my cup hot, I'll order more for gifts and another for myself. I'll let you know more later, after I use this product. I am tired of drinking cold tea and coffee.
Thank you...
I'd love to work at making these or designing my own cup heater. Seems nobody does it well. But this one seems to satisfy some people. I'll give it a whirl and see for myself.
Customer Review: I love hot coffee Summary: 5 Stars
This product is exactly what I wanted to keep my coffee hot at work. It looks attractive, has a long enough cord to reach my outlet and the on/off switch is on the cord which I also like. I will definitely recommend this to others.
Customer Review: It just works for me Summary: 5 Stars
I drink tea in the office and need to keep it warn. This worked as expected.
Customer Review: It really works! Summary: 4 Stars
I've had this warmer at work for 2 years and it works wonderfully. You don't have to start w/ warm liquid if you keep a lid on the mug! Be careful if you use a lid on already warm liquid, it can get hot after about 5 minutes. If you don't use a lid, the liquid will stay very warm. I got a Mr. Coffee warmer because the on and off switch was on the warmer, but it only keeps liquids tepid, not warm. The only downside to the Cozy Cup is as stated in other reviews, the on/off switch is about a foot down the cord.
Customer Review: It works Summary: 4 Stars
I've never owned one of these but have always wanted one. Winter is coming and my office is always cold, so I can't slowly enjoy my hot drinks. I had originally planned to buy one from my local Walgreens, until I read the bad reviews on most mug warmers. The good reviews in here convinced me to give this one a try.
Shipping was fast and my first impression of the item was that its ugly. What is up with the almost reptilian scale-like print?! It would have been much nicer if they just left it white. On the flip side, it seems to be solidly built. The base is ceramic, unlike cheaper plastic models. Another complaint as stated by others in here is that the power cord is way too short. This was designed to be used on a desk, why would they make the cord so short!? And the switch is pretty lame as well, considering that the cord is so short. Perhaps the short cord has something to do with a safety requirement by UL.
Other than its shortcomings, the item seems to work pretty well. The heating surface gets very hot. However, I found that a conventional coffee mug doesn't work as well because the bottom of the mug doesn't make 100% contact with the heated base. So plan on getting a mug or glass that has a flat bottom so that it can absorb the heat from the heated base.
It keeps my drink fairly hot, but not fresh from the pot hot. It gets the job done for my purposes and beats having to drink a lukewarm or cold drink. A note to the manufacturer, please get rid of that ridiculous print on the base and lengthen the power cord if possible.
