These make for a attractive dinner setting. The bowls have a deep narrow design which allows for a small amount of butter to have a depth for suitable dipping. I purchased two sets for my daughter and two sets for my wife.They both love them and me... One caution, they get very hot, yes they are supposed too... so blow out the candles a few minutes before clearing the table to allow them to cool. One other note; Ours were shipped in a box without packing which resulted in one damaged set which was replaced buy two new sets. So kudos to the vendor.
